QTenders and the Queensland Supplier Portal: where Queensland Government tenders are published
Queensland Government tenders are published on QTenders, and the state is moving its supplier front door to the new Queensland Supplier Portal at supply.qld.gov.au, which runs on VendorPanel Marketplace. During the transition a supplier who wants every Queensland opportunity registers on both. Registration on each is free. Council work in Queensland runs through other channels again: VendorPanel for many councils, Local Buy's quarterly rounds, and Brisbane City Council's own supplier registration.

QTenders
QTenders is the Queensland Government's tender portal. State agencies and statutory bodies publish open tenders there with a title, the issuing agency, a category, a closing date and the tender documents. Registration is free and gives you category and region notifications when new tenders are published, plus the documents and any addenda.

The Queensland Supplier Portal
The Queensland Government is moving its supplier front door to the Queensland Supplier Portal at supply.qld.gov.au, which runs on VendorPanel Marketplace. It is the successor channel as QTenders phases across. Notifications there are configured by category and by region of service.
While the transition runs, register on both. A tender you expected on QTenders may be released through the Supplier Portal, and the reverse; two free registrations cost nothing but the ten minutes. Check the portals themselves for the current state of the migration.
Building and maintenance work: QBuild and PQC
Government building maintenance in Queensland runs through QBuild, the state's own builder and maintenance agency, which engages trade contractors from its contractor register by trade and region. Work offers flow to registered contractors. For capital works, the Prequalification (PQC) system covers projects from a stated value threshold and renews on a cycle; the business.qld.gov.au pages hold the current thresholds and the application.
Councils: VendorPanel, Local Buy, Brisbane City Council
Many Queensland councils publish requests for quotation and public tenders through VendorPanel Marketplace, where one free account works across every council buyer that uses it. Set it up once, early, not in deadline week.
Local Buy, the Local Government Association of Queensland's procurement arm, runs long-running arrangements that councils buy from; supplier tender rounds open quarterly (1 February, 1 May, 1 August and 1 November), so a missed window means months until the next.
Brisbane City Council, the largest council in Australia, runs supplier self-registration on SAP Ariba with roughly two business days for approval; register before a tender closes, not during. The traps that cost real bids
Three things the source portals do that catch new suppliers:
- Addenda and amendments usually go only to registered downloaders. Browsing anonymously means missing the change that invalidates your bid.
- Notifications are only as good as the categories you chose at registration. Revisit them when your services change.
- One tender can appear on more than one portal (a council RFQ on VendorPanel and on the council's own page, for instance). Helm shows it once and notes the other listings on the record.
